A little bit more about who we are, what we do, and what got us here.
After growing up in London, I pursued a diverse career in both the travel and housing sectors. My passion for travel was sparked by my first job after leaving school, working for a European tour operator that frequently took me across the continent. Over the years, I have been incredibly lucky to live in Spain, travel extensively through the Caribbean, spend a month exploring the Cook Islands, and work and travel in New Zealand and Australia.
In 2006, I founded a Property Management and Virtual Assistant company, where I created and maintained numerous websites and social media accounts for property owners, brands, and self-employed colleagues. I also undertook the renovation of properties and holiday homes for clients. My role encompassed everything from concept design to project management, including hot tub installations, full refits, and interior design.
In parallel, I spent over a decade consulting for various organizations such as Wherry Housing, Museums Norfolk, Norwich Council, Buy Local Norfolk, and Wroxham Barns. I also took on Project Management roles for notable events and entities like the Voewood Festival, The Dorchester Hotel, and the NZ Health Board.
By 2020, I sought to reignite my passion for travel and founded East Coast Hideaways, a bespoke holiday accommodation agency. Since then, the business has grown to manage 33 properties across East Anglia and Scotland. I’ve also built a social media following of over 28,000 and managed all aspects of the brand’s website design, marketing, and advertising, positioning it for national expansion.
With over a decade of experience in the estate agency sector, David’s career began as a trainee, where he quickly demonstrated his talent and commitment, rising through the ranks to become Associate Director at a prominent multi-branch agency. His early success was a testament to his deep understanding of the property market, as well as his strong work ethic and ability to build lasting relationships with clients.
In 2023 David launched his own Estate Agency, David Hawkes EXP, focusing on Property Management, rentals and sales in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Adding further value to his services, David is a certified domestic energy assessor. This qualification allows him to offer comprehensive property management solutions, ensuring his clients’ properties meet energy efficiency standards while also providing valuable advice to property owners and investors looking to enhance the sustainability and appeal of their homes.
In 2024, David expanded his offerings by launching a Buyer Representation service, a strategic addition to his agency that offers clients personalized guidance and expertise when purchasing a property.

In 2023, David joined ECH to support its growth, and in 2024, we launched ECPC, a comprehensive consultation service encompassing all of our services under one umbrella.
